Step 4: Ending DĪfter Ending C you can either revert a save backup or do another playthrough to trigger Ending D. It would be smart to make a backup of your save at the end of the game just in case, before going on to trigger Ending C if you don’t want to do an extra playthrough to then trigger Ending D. In this playthrough you also will want to do the boss speedrun trophies if you haven’t already, as there isn’t new cutscene content during the boss fights, so you can skip all cutscenes during them without fear of missing anything. The next time through you will need to collect all weapons (if you haven’t done so already) so that you gain the choice to trigger either Ending C or D after fighting a new final boss. Step 3: Collect all weapons, boss speedruns, Ending C When you reach the end of the story again you will automatically have Ending B occur. This second time through has some new cutscenes during the story, as well as some novel sections giving background on Kaine and Emil. Step 2: Ending BĪfter you complete Ending A, you are put back into the story just after the point in Part Two where you rescue Kaine. If you don’t plan to do Lightspeed Fighter on your first playthrough then you can do as much or as little as you want while working towards the ending. The first step is to just play through the game fully to reach Ending A. Completing Ending E gives back your deleted Ending D save, which means you can then use that to do all grinding and misc you have left, instead of reverting your save to before Ending D. If you did miss that first time you can get it when you run through the first hour of Part One again for Ending E.ĭue to the new content/changes added that go along with Ending E, you don’t need to back up your save before triggering Ending D. Sheep only spawn normally during Part One of the story, and even though the game includes the extra NPC in Part Two that lets you kill sheep, those don’t seem to count towards the total for The Sheep Whisperer. If you don’t do Lightspeed Fighter the first time through you need to start a new game and play again from scratch, it doesn’t count going Ending A to Ending B for example. The missable things in this version of the game are Lightspeed Fighter for finishing the game (NG to Ending A) in under 15 hours of game time and The Sheep Whisperer for killing 100 sheep.

Each new “playthrough” you are only playing through under half of the full game, aside from Ending E which requires you play through some of Part One of the story again, before changing to the new Ending E content. When you complete the story and reach an ending, you are then returned to a point in the story after the start of Part Two, so while the game technically requires 4 “playthroughs” for endings, the only full playthrough is the actual first one from New Game to Ending A. NieR Replicant is set up so that the story occurs in two parts, Part One and Part Two.

You are still required to upgrade a number of weapons like the original, but due to the free “4 YoRHa” DLC you get access to some extra ones which makes upgrading 33 out of a possible 38 less tedious than the original. It includes 5 new trophies, with 2 being related to the new story content, 1 being for a new ending, 1 being for completing the Recycled Vessel once, and one more miscellaneous trophy. The trophy list for this version is largely the same as the original game if you are familiar with it. This ver.1.22474487139 comes with some updates to combat (so it plays somewhat closer to NieR Automata), “The World of the Recycled Vessel” DLC from the original being built into the game, and some content that was cut from the original. The stories between the two are basically the same if you happened to play the original, just with minor dialogue differences and relationship establishments due to the different main character ages.
